AutoTrader.com is celebrating the year of the new car with a multi-city road trip during baseball season that also celebrates a new start for youth and baseball.
As part of this initiative, "Drive to a New Start" will raise funds to support the local programs of Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities' (RBI) presented by KPMG. RBI is designed to promote the game of baseball to youth in disadvantaged areas. In partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, RBI leagues are maturing in local Boys and Girls Clubs nationwide.

"Drive to a New Start" features Hall-of-Famer Rich "Goose" Gossage, a long-time supporter of youth baseball who embodies the ultimate drive to succeed. His overpowering fastball, which could reach 100 miles per hour, made him one of the top relief pitchers throughout the 1970s and 1980s. During a Major League Baseball career spanning more than 20 years with nine ball clubs, Goose was a 9-time All-Star and will be inducted into Cooperstown this summer. His 2008 induction cements Goose's place in history and represents a new start as a National Baseball Hall of Famer.

RBI presented by KPMG is one of many Major League Baseball initiatives dedicated to enhancing youth participation and interest in baseball and softball. Specifically, RBI is designed to promote interest in the sport and encourage kids to stay in school. RBI programs have been started in more than 200 cities worldwide, and annually provide as many as 120,000 boys and girls the opportunity to play baseball and softball.
